Gentle Breeze
About The Gentle Breeze Archetype
The Gentle Breeze archetype represents a person who is very influential to the world around them, but in subtle ways. Not everyone notices the impact this person could have or is having, but those who are more tuned in and sensitive will notice. Easygoing and kind are defining characteristics of this archetype, as is striving to move forward and accomplish what is important to them. Like a breeze that will adjust its direction when it encounters an obstacle, so too this archetype will adjust to whatever is placed in their way. Light-hearted by nature and often generous they think of life not as problematic, but as a sweet and intriguing journey.
A person with the Gentle Breeze archetype is exceptionally consistent and follows through on their commitments, although, they may sometimes take on too much. This archetype is often not good at resting. They tend not to rush so it may not look like they are expending much energy in accomplishing everything they do. This is as true from their personal perspective as it is for others observing them. They are people with great stamina that is expressed through the marathon approach to life, not the sprint. This archetype is an air element and can greatly benefit from grounding exercises that primarily involve the earth and soil. This archetype’s energy is above the earth, in the same way a breeze is, and over time this can create an energetic imbalance that can be corrected with an amount of effort.
In the world, people are often drawn to this archetype’s kind nature as well as the gentle energy they express. This archetype can find fulfillment in any career that can appreciate their unique approach to life. They make excellent and loving partners and friends, usually willing to go the extra distance to make something happen or to make someone happy.
This archetype is usually adverse to confrontation and does better when they recognize this and learn not to back down. This archetype is accustomed to people liking them and can be concerned about what might happen if someone thinks negatively of them. Once they learn to change this reaction, a number of situations in their life that have not been evolving well will likely change. A secondary byproduct of adversity to confrontation is that this archetype will often not share what is troubling them. While this information does not need to be shared widely, it is better for this archetype to share it with at least one other person.
It is important for the Gentle Breeze archetype to remember to stop, relax and rest, even though it looks like they move through life fairly effortlessly. They have great stamina, and while there is often an effortless quality to how they navigate life, they can be tireless in their approach to what matters to them and usually forge ahead. This is about balance for this archetype and learning that there are times when they need to step back from their work or other commitments.

Guided Exercise
Developing Inner Calm
The Gentle Breeze archetype shares with the other nature archetype air elements the need for grounding. This archetype often feels that it is grounded enough but that self-assessment is usually based on the misunderstanding that grounding will have a negative impact on its natural lighter energy.
The opposite is true in all cases of proper energetic grounding. It only enhances the specific qualities of all the nature archetypes. The Gentle Breeze archetype is always moving, even in sleep. This movement is not necessarily physical and is often mental. Stillness is challenging for them. The path to the best type of grounding for this archetype is through discovering inner stillness. This exercise develops that inner stillness.
Sit quietly where you will not be disturbed and close your eyes. Envision a beautiful lake at night. The lake is still and you are the only one there. The sky is clear and filled with stars. Think of this as a summer evening when you can sit by the lake comfortably for as long as you like. There is a full moon providing enough ambient light to see the lake. Focus your attention on the center of the lake. Allow yourself to connect to it, however that feels to you. Take the time needed to make this connection. If you do not feel this connection, imagine feeling the connection. Imagination can help bridge the gulf between genuinely feeling energy and the belief that it is not something you are able to feel.
As you sit with this connection allow it to become stronger but not uncomfortable. When this connection feels stable gently bring the lake into you. Allow the quiet and stillness of the lake to enter you. Do not overthink this and instead allow it to happen. You do not have to know how to do this. Your allowing it to happen is all that is required. Take your time with this transition and stay open to receiving this energy encapsulated in the beauty of the lake. Sit for a time — there is no need to rush — feeling the lake within you and when you are ready to proceed with the rest of your day, open your eyes and stand up.
This is a loving visualization you may do as often as you wish. The more you practice it the more stillness and internal calm you will feel.
